If you are using or exploring the popular PHP, MySQL, Apache, Linux other web technologies, the West Midlands PHP User Group may be just the resource you are looking for.
Here at OpenAdvantage, by far one of the most popular technologies that our clients are interested is PHP and MySQL. These technologies, as well as the popular LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) combination have resulted in regular FastTracks, training, consultancy and other activities. It is fair to say that these technologies are becoming very relevant in the West Midlands. With so much interest, a need for more help and assistance has resulted for people in the West Midlands who are using PHP, MySQL, Apache, Linux and other technologies. To remedy this, the West Midlands PHP User Group has been formed.
The aim of the West Midlands PHP User Group is to provide a platform in which people of all skill levels can talk to each other to solve problems and discuss the technology. Within the group there is no pre-requisite in terms of knowledge or skills - anyone is welcome to join.
The primary resource that the group has to offer is the mailing list. This list provides a means for you to subscribe your email address to the group and when people post messages to the list, everyone receives them. This is a convenient and useful way of staying in touch with the group and having to remember to visit a website when you are busy.
To join the group, you can join the mailing list by clicking here, filling in your email address and then replying to the confirmation email that will be sent to you. An archive of previous messages to the group is available here. More information on the group is available at http://www.phpwm.org/.
